Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A mapping system which uses wireless communication and a method thereof are provided to write a topographic map from the location of a mobile robot, thereby easily acquiring the topography of a region which is difficult to be accessed by a person. CONSTITUTION: A mapping system comprises a mobile robot(100) and a terminal(200). A communication part repetitively moves within a measurement region to write a topographic map. A distance value of a distance sensor and a value measured by two light sensors are transmitted through a wireless network for each unit distance. The terminal comprises a map drawing part(210) and a command transmission part(220). The map drawing part writes the topographic map of the measurement region including a movement route of the mobile robot based on the distance value and the measured value transmitted from the mobile robot for each unit distance. The command transmission part transmits a predetermined code type measurement command to the mobile robot for each unit distance.
