APPARATUS FOR SIDE MIRROR SHAPE IN VEHICLE AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A side mirror-shaped device of a vehicle and a method thereof are provided to offer the information about side section of a vehicle and reduce the air resistance of a vehicle due to a projection even if a projected side mirror is removed. CONSTITUTION: A side mirror-shaped device of a vehicle comprises a micro camera(10), an occupant detecting sensor(20), a vehicle door sensor(30), a side mirror controller(70) and an electro-luminescent display(80). The micro camera is installed to the outside of a vehicle and the image about a rear section of a vehicle is gotten. The occupant sensing sensor senses the presence of a passenger. The vehicles door sensor determines the locking state of the vehicle door. The side mirror controller determines the operation of the side mirror function based on the output signal of the vehicles door sensor and occupant sensing sensor. If the side mirror function is actuated, the side mirror controller displays the rear image of the vehicle obtaining with the micro camera. The electro-luminescent display displays the rear image of the vehicle to the shape of the side mirror according to the control of the side mirror controller.
