ELECTRODYNAMIC LINEAR DIRECT DRIVE

The invention relates to an electrodynamic linear direct drive having an elongated base element (12), which has at least two guide means (16) extending along a main axis (18), and also having a carriage (14) which is mounted on the base element (12) such that it can move linearly in the axial direction of the main axis (18) and which comprises a carriage body (24) having at least two guide devices (26, 27) which are used to transmit force to the guide means (16) and enable the transmission of a preloading force to the base element (12), and further having an electrodynamic drive unit (72) which is carried by the carriage (14) and which is designed to provide a drive force for a linear movement of the carriage (14) along the base element (12). According to the invention, the carriage body (24) has a first carriage section (38) with a first guide device (26) and a separately implemented second carriage section (40) with a second guide device (27), wherein the two carriage sections (38, 40) are connected to each other by a coupling device (58), and the carriage body (24) and the coupling device (58) have different coefficients of thermal expansion, in order to be able to keep the preloading force between carriage (14) and base element (12) at least substantially constant.
