Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to improve viewing angel characteristics in a diagonal direction by changing polarization characteristics of the light. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display element(201) includes as follows. A liquid crystal display panel includes an active layer. A first and second polarization plate polarizes the light. A first negative biaxial film(221) changes the polarization state of the light by being included between the liquid crystal display panel and a second polarization plate. A second negative biaxial film(225) changes a polarization state of the light by being included between the liquid crystal display panel and the first negative biaxial film.
