Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A washing machine and a method for controlling the same are provided to dry inside of a tub without using an additional instrument. CONSTITUTION: A user selects a desired washing course(S310). The user selects the tub drying stage(S320). A control unit performs the selected washing course(S340). The control unit senses the opening of the door(S351). If the user does not open the door within the predetermined time, the controller generates a wrong operating signal(S353,S359). If the user closes the door within the predetermined time, the controller performs drying operation for the tub(S355,S360).
