Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A Lindera erythrocarpa-derived compound is provided to obtain a composition for skin whitening showing melanin inhibitory activity higher than existing albutin known as a whitening agent. CONSTITUTION: A method for separating a Lindera erythrocarpa-derived compound comprises the steps of: extracting Lindera erythrocarpa in a solvent to obtain Lindera erythrocarpa extracts; partitioning the Lindera erythrocarpa extracts into hexane, methylene chloride, ethyl acetate, and butanol to obtain solvent fractions; partitioning the Lindera erythrocarpa extracts by performing a primary silicagel column chromatography using hexane and ethyl acetate as a solvent; and applying a secondary silica gel column chromatography to the extracts using a mixed solvent of hexane and ethyl acetate.
