A resin composition for a sliding member is composed of: 5 to 15% by mass of a polyarilate resin, 10 to 25% by mass of a polytetrafluoroethylene resin, 0.5 to 2% by mass of a high molecular weight silicone polymer, 0.5 to 5% by mass of an inorganic filler, and the balance of a polyamide resin.
