Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: An image data processing apparatus of a portable terminal and method thereof are provided to reduce the amount of block similarity calculations by comparing the block of a virtual frame. CONSTITUTION: A camera obtains image data. A similar block detecting unit(102) estimates block similarity after comparing binary data. The similar block detecting unit converts a reference image and a comparison image to binary data and estimates the block similarity. The similar block detecting unit sets up a reference image and converts the reference image and the comparison image to binary data.
