Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A method for preparing Hedera rhombea extract which suppresses melanogenesis and tyrosinase activity is provided to treat melasma, dots, freckles, or hyperpigmentation during pregnancy. CONSTITUTION: A whitening cosmetic composition contains 25-100ug/ml of Hedera rhombea as an active ingredient. A method for preparing ethyl acetate from Hedera rhombea comprises: a step of washing and drying Hedera rhombea by hot air; a step of pulverizing Hedera rhombea; a step of precipitating pulverized Hedera rhombea in an organic solvent, leaching, and filtering; a step of repeating leaching and filtering two or three times; a step of decompressing and freeze-drying to obtain a powder; and a step of partitioning the Hedera rhombea extract with ethyl acetate. The organic solvent is 70% ethanol.
