Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling a mobile terminal and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to perform communication regardless of the position of the mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A sensing unit(310) senses the position of a mobile terminal. A control unit(320) selects a first handset or a second handset based on the position of the mobile terminal. When the mobile terminal is placed in a forward direction, the control unit selects the first handset. When the mobile terminal is placed in a reverse direction, the control unit selects the second handset.
