Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition and health food containing Chaenomeles sinensis fruit extract for preventing and treating diabetes is provided to suppress alpha-glucosidase, beta-glucosidase, alpha-galactosidase, and beta-galactosidase and to be used as a therapeutic agent for enzyme-associated diabetes. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating diabetes contains Chaenomeles sinensis fruit solvent extract as an active ingredient. The Chaenomeles sinensis fruit is dried or raw fruits. The solvent extract is isolated using water, low alcohol of C1-C4 or mixture solvent thereof. A health food for preventing and treating diabetes contains the Chaenomeles sinensis solvent extract as an active ingredient.
