SYSTEM AND METHOD OF GESTURE-BASED USER INTERFACE

PURPOSE: A gesture-based user interface system and a method thereof are provided to supply the user interface capable of recognizing the gesture of new form, thereby setting more various functions to gesture. CONSTITUTION: A coordinate obtain unit(110) extracts one or more vertex between the initial point and endpoint and initial point and endpoint from the coordinate data by the input event. A gesture recognition unit(130) recognizes gesture from type of line connecting the initial point and the endpoint through the vertex. A function operating unit(150) practices a function corresponding to the acknowledged gesture. According to the location of the vertex based on the initial point and the endpoint, a gesture recognizing unit recognizes the gesture.
