Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A cooker and a method for controlling the same are provided to reduce exposure to electromagnetic wave by automatically stopping the operation of a cooker. CONSTITUTION: A cooker comprises a main body, a door, a position sensing unit(3), and a heat source(6). The main body comprises a cavity for cooking food. The door opens and closes the cavity. The position sensing unit senses the motion of the object. The heat source cooks the food. When the position sensing unit detects the motion of the object within a fixed domain, the operation of the heat source is suspended.
