A RADIATION DETECTOR BASED ON PLASTIC SCINTILLATOR AND THE RADIONUCLIDE-DETECTION METHOD USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A radiation detector based on plastic scintillator and a method for detecting a radionuclide using the same are provided to effectively obtain information about a radioactive substance which emits radiation. CONSTITUTION: A radiation detector based on plastic scintillator comprises scintillator detecting modules(1,2), an electric signal processor(30), an energy analyzer(40), and an operation system(50). The scintillator detecting modules are composed of plastic scintillators(11,12) and phototubes(21,22). The plastic scintillators change radiation to visible rays. The phototubes are connected to the plastic scintillators, and change the visible rays to an electric signal. The electric signal processor is connected to the phototubes, and removes noise. The energy analyzer is connected to the electric signal processor, and processes the electric signal.
