APPARATUS FOR DRIVING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND METHOD FOR COMPENSATING CHANNEL CONTRAST THEREOF

PURPOSE: An apparatus for driving plasma display panel and a method for compensating a channel contrast thereof are provided to apply an optimum contrast curve to an image signal by compensating a conventional dynamic contrast with Black/White anti-saturation algorithm. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel driving apparatus includes an RF signal input unit, a gray scale correction unit, and a PDP module. The RF signal input unit receives an image signal having properties at each channel. The gray scale correction unit corrects a rotation angle of a contrast curve based on the maximum value and minimum value of gray level of the input image. The PDP module outputs the image signal which is applied by a corrected contrast bend.
