PROCESS FOR PREPARING OF gamma-BUTYROLACTONE USING MALEIC ANHYDRIDE

PURPOSE: A method for preparing γ-Butyrolactone is provided to enhance process efficiency without environmental contamination and minimize side reaction. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing γ-Butyrolactone comprises: a first process of reacting maleic anhydride under the presence of solid phase catalyst in hydrogen atmosphere to obtain succinic anhydride; and a second process of performing liquid-phase hydrogenate reaction under hydrogen atmosphere. The solid phase catalyst used in the first process contains palladium as an active ingredient. The solid phase catalyst used in the first process contains a carrier having active ingredient selected from oxide. The solid phase catalyst used in the second process contains platinum as active ingredient.
