The optical sheet for a backlight unit for a liquid crystal display is provided with at least one of a prism structure, a lens structure and a lenticular structure on a base material front surface. The base material rear surface of the optical sheet has a shape having periodic arrangement. The periodicity of arrangement of the base material rear surface shape is identical to that on the base material front surface.
