ORAL TABLET CONTAINING ASPIRIN AND NIACIN

PURPOSE: A complex formulation containing aspirin and niacin is provided to ensure convenience administration and reduce side effects of the niacin and aspirin. CONSTITUTION: A complex formulation contains aspirin and niacin which are coated with enteric polymer. The complex formulation is an inner cored-tablet containing aspirin, and cored-tablet with outer layer of niacin. The enteric polymer is hydroxypropylmethylcellulose phthalate or metacrylic acid copolymer. A granule having the inner core-tablet and outer layer further contains excipient, binder, lubricating agent or disintegrant. The excipient is starch, sorbitol, citric acid, mannitol, sucrose, colloidal silica, spray dried-lactose, anhydrous lactose, dibasic calcium phosphate or micro crystalline cellulose. The disintegrant is lactose, starch, sodium starch glycolate, crospovidone, croscarmellose sodium or maltodextrin.
