Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for notifying a change of system information in a broadband wireless communication system are provided to use separate change counters corresponding to each common control message, thereby reducing overhead of information transmitted by a common control channel. CONSTITUTION: If a SBCH(Secondary Broadcast control Channel) for transmitting system control information is changed, a GCCC(Group Configuration Change Counter) increases(801~809). If at least one common control message is changed, the GCCC and at least one common control message change counter increase. The GCCC and the common control message change counter are transmitted(813).
