Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: An encoding/decoding apparatus using bandwidth extension and a method thereof are provided to perform encoding by removing correlation between frames, thereby efficiently performing the encoding. CONSTITUTION: An HMM(Hidden Markov Model)-based BWE(Artificial Bandwidth Extension) unit(303) generates an estimated upper bandwidth signal from a lower bandwidth signal. A correlation remover(307) predicts and removes correlation between before and after frames.
