Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A method for producing purified (meth)acrylic acid is provided to produce aqueous (meth)acrylic acid containing considerably low formaldehyde, and to reduce the corrosion of downstream processing equipment, for example the corrosion of distillation equipment caused by copper-formaldehyde interaction. CONSTITUTION: A method for minimizing the corrosion of an apparatus during distillation of an aqueous (meth)acrylic acid in the presence of dissolved copper comprises the steps of: providing an aqueous acrylic acid supply stream(10) including formaldehyde, wherein the formaldehyde is present in the amount of 0.1 weight% or less based on the total weight of acrylic acid, water and aqueous acrylic acid stream; and purifying an aqueous acrylic acid feed stream with azeotropic evaporation in the presence of dissolved copper.
