Zusammenfassung:This invention provides a method for treating a high-temperature waste gas, which can lower the temperature of the high-temperature waste gas to a proper temperature while effectively suppressing the deposition of molten components and dust contained in the high-temperature waste gas onto the inner wall of a cooling tower. This method comprises an introduction step of introducing the high-temperature waste gas into the cooling tower through a flue, and a cooling step of spraying cooling water against the high-temperature waste gas in the cooling tower to cool the high-temperature waste gas. In the introduction step, the high-temperature waste gas is introduced into the cooling tower through two flue systems so that the flow rate and flow volume in one of the system are equal to the flow rate and flow volume in the other system. The axial centerlines of the two flue systems are opposite to each other and are substantially perpendicular to the axial centerline of the cooling tower, as viewed from a direction along the axial centerline of the cooling tower.
