Zusammenfassung:Disclosed is a diaphragm for solid polymer fuel cells, which is composed of a hydrocarbon cation exchange resin diaphragm wherein a cation exchange group is covalently bonded, and an adhesive layer formed on at least one side of the hydrocarbon cation exchange resin diaphragm. This diaphragm for solid polymer fuel cells is characterized in that the adhesive layer has a Young's modulus of 1-300 MPa and a solubility of less than 1% by mass in water at 20°C. Also disclosed is a membrane-electrode assembly which is obtained by forming a catalyst electrode layer on at least one side of the diaphragm for solid polymer fuel cells.
