Zusammenfassung:	Provided is a process of preparing titanium carbide enabling a substrate to be coated with a desired titanium carbide layer. A process of preparing titanium carbide(TiC) using a pigment formulation comprising one or more titanium donors and a carbon donor comprises irradiating a laser onto the pigment formulation, thereby reacting the pigment formulation under the laser irradiation to form the titanium carbide. The process comprises depositing the titanium carbide on a substrate. The pigment formulation is designed as a polymer matrix, the polymer matrix comprises a titanium donor and a carbon donor, and the polymer matrix is mainly pulverized by the laser irradiation. The titanium carbide preparation is performed without plastics melted without glass frit and/or under energy irradiation. The used titanium donor is titanium dioxide.
