Zusammenfassung:	A method for reproducing media contents of a portable apparatus through a digital TV and a device therefor are provided to enable a user to enjoy the media contents stored in the portable apparatus through the digital TV once the user connects the portable apparatus to the TV, and to use various functions of the portable apparatus through a user interface of the TV. When a predetermined portable apparatus is connected through a predetermined external input port(210), the current mode is converted into an output mode for the external input port(220). In case of the conversion, a type of the portable apparatus is asked to the portable apparatus(230). Based on a response for the inquiry, the current mode is selectively converted into the output mode for the external input port(240). When the output mode is converted, at least one of media contents stored in the portable apparatus is reproduced.
