TERMINAL AND THE CONTROL METHOD THAT ACHIEVE CAMPING USING IMSI INFORMATION

A terminal of performing camping by using IMSI(International Mobile Subscriber ID) information and a control method thereof are provided to reduce time required during camping while minimizing a frequency of scan for camping. An ARFCN(Absolute Radio Frequency Channel Number) table(110) stores at least one ARFCN information. A controller(120) detects the ARFCN from the ARFCN table during frequency scan and performs camping from a corresponding ARFCN. The ARFCN table is checked through MCC(Mobile Country Code) and MNC(Mobile Network Code) information stored in a SIM(Subscriber ID module) card. If camping is not performed after all ARFCNs checked through the ARFCN table are scanned, the controller scan a frequency of all bands.
