Zusammenfassung:An editing mode setting method and a terminal determining an edit mode are provided to set up the edit mode by setting up the edit mode according to the location of a currently inputted character. An input unit(130) inputs a character. A controller(180) determines the location of the inputted character among the word including the inputted character. The controller sets up an editing mode of the character inputted according to the determined location. A display unit inputs control signal from the controller and displays the inputted character according to the set editing mode. The controller sets up the edit mode of the inputted character into a capital mode in case that the location of the inputted character is the first location.
