An automatic TV information detection method and a display system thereof are provided to maximize an effect of emergency broadcasting, capable of turning on a TV system by detecting a signal of the emergency broadcasting to lead more people to watch the emergency broadcasting. An emergency broadcasting signal separation and processing unit separates an emergency broadcasting signal from CVBS in a broadcasting signal receiver. And the separated emergency broadcasting signal is decoded to emergency broadcasting control information and outputs the decoded information to controller. The emergency broadcasting signal separation and processing unit generates a caption processing signal from the decoded emergency broadcasting control information, and outputs to video signal processing unit. The controller controls an overall operation of a TV system based on a control program data stored in a storage unit. If the pre-registered information is detected from the decoded emergency broadcasting control information, the controller turns on a TV system or switches a TV system operation mode to watching mode, and controls an emergency broadcasting channel is outputted on a TV channel.
