COATED ANTIOXIDANT PARTICLE, COMPOSITION COMPRISING THE PARTICLE AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THE PARTICLE

A coated antioxidant particle is provided to enhance the stability of antioxidant, especially in the aqueous composition, and suppress the smell of alpha-lipoic acid by coating the antioxidant such as ascorbic acid with disulfide polymer of alpha-lipoic acid and optionally water-insoluble polymer. The coated antioxidant particle is comprised of an antioxidant compound core and a first coating layer containing alpha-lipoic acid based polymer, formed on the surface of the antioxidant compound core, and comprises 80-95 wt.% of antioxidant and 5-20 wt.% of polymer of alpha-lipoic acid, wherein the antioxidant compound is ascorbic acid, ascorbyl phosphate, glucosyl ascorbate, ascorbyl palmitate, catechin or epigallocatechin gallate(EGCG); the alpha-lipoic acid based polymer is alpha-lipoic acid, alpha-lipoic acid succinimide or alpha-lipoic acid glycine ester.
