SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROTECTING IDENTITY INFORMATION

A system and a method for protecting identity information are provided to use an identity service and control the circulation of client identity information in order to protect the identity information in an electronic transaction process. If an electronic identity client(300) registers in an identity guaranteed service, an identity guaranteed service(400) searches search illegally obtained identity information or requests identity information to the identity client to consent to the correction of identity. The identity guaranteed service comprises a processing unit, a network interface, and a user interface. The identity guaranteed service comprises a memory device storing registration tools, monitoring tools, and correction tools. The identity client registers in the identity guaranteed service by using the registration tools. The correction tools detect the illegally obtained identity information or the undesirable use of the identity information to produce the new reference of the identity information. The monitoring tools monitor an attempt approaching the identity information through former reference. The correction tools convert the permitted attempts into the new reference and deny the access to attempts which is not permitted.
