A long-span structure using under-tension and the construction method thereof are provided to secure overhead clearance and to maximize structural efficiency by optimized-designing the structure of under-tension and supporting the structure using a girder and a connection member. A long-span structure using under-tension comprises two supports(100) installed by columns or beams, an upper chord member(200) placed on the supports and having the fixed curvature, a tension member(300) coupled to two ends of the upper chord and having the fixed curvature, many compression members(400) installed vertically between the upper chord and the tension member and connecting the upper chord and the tension member, and a connection member(500) connected vertically to the compression member.
