Zusammenfassung:	A system for on-line education using an avatar and a method thereof are provided to assign an avatar considering an age of a learner and develop the avatar according to whether a learning purpose is archived, thereby interesting a leaner for learning to maximize learning effects. An on line study system comprises learner terminals(101a,101b,101c), a web server(102), and a database(103). The learner terminal comprises a web browser. The web server is connected to the learner terminal through the Internet. The database is connected to the web sever and stores information. The web server comprises a learning purpose setting unit(110), a study management unit(112), an avatar administration unit(111), and a registering unit(114). The learning purpose setting unit sets a learning purpose per a learning period unit and transmits the learning purpose to the learner terminal. The study management unit calculate the learning purpose by a learning purpose amount per a day.
