Zusammenfassung:Troubles such as uneven exposure due to difference between the speeds of a front curtain and a rear curtain or positional gap of curtain plane (vignetting) are restrained while reducing power consumption. At the time of low speed shutter when the shutter speed is set low by an exposure control means, exposure start operation is performed by the electronic focal plane shutter function of an imaging element (the electronic focal plane shutter is employed as the front curtain), and exposure end operation is performed by a mechanical focal plane shutter. At the time of high speed shutter when the shutter speed is set high by the exposure control means, both exposure start operation and exposure end operation are performed by the mechanical focal plane shutter (the mechanical focal plane shutter is employed as the rear curtain).
