APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TESTING LEAK OF FUEL TANK

A leak detection device and method of a fuel tank are provided to achieve more accurate and precise inspection by automatizing a leak test of the fuel tank. A leak detection device of a fuel tank comprises a movable container(36), a fixed container(38), a gas holder(40), a vacuum pump(51), first and second manometers(52,53), and a gas analyzer(54). The movable container comprises a fixture(32) in which a fuel tank(31), a test object, is fixed and moves through a horizontal cylinder(34) and a vertical cylinder(35) provided on a frame structure(33). The fixed container forms a closed space while surrounding the fuel tank with selective coupling. The gas holder selectively supplies test gas to the internal space(31a) and the closed space(37) of the fuel tank. The vacuum pump forces the test gas existing in the internal space and the closed space to the outside. The first and the second manometer measure the pressure of the closed space and the internal space. The gas analyzer measures the concentration of the test gas existing in the closed space.
