A pharmaceutical composition for using an external skin has Cornus kousa extracts or a compound separated from the Cornus kousa extracts as an active ingredient. The Cornus kousa extracts are a crude extract of the Cornus kousa, a polar solvent soluble extract or a non-polar solvent soluble extract. The crude extract is an extract soluble in one or more solvents selected from a group consisting of water, and a carbon number 1-4 of lower alcohol or a propylene glycol, acetic acid ethyl, butylene glycol, glycerine, ether and chloroform.
