Zusammenfassung:	An automatic code searching method is provided to set a brand code corresponding to a to-be-controlled device without reference to a GUI(Graphic User Interface) or manual and prevent the device from being wrongly controlled due to a wrongly selected brand code. An automatic code searching method includes a step of inputting a remote control code of a to-be-controlled device(S10), a step of detecting a comparison data format from the inputted remote control code(S11), a step of comparing data stored in a database to the detected comparison data format to detect similarity(S12), and a step of setting a candidate brand code as a brand code of the to-be-controlled device when the detected similarity exceeds a reference value(S13,S14).
