THE AUTOMATIC TALKING BOOK

A device and a method for outputting contents of a book by recognizing a page automatically are provided to output the contents of a page in audio and video by recognizing the page automatically when a user turns the page. A key input unit(210) receives a control command from a user. A communicator(270) receives contents by connecting to an external website through the wired/wireless network. A memory(240) stores the contents received through the network. A camera(220) captures a unique code and a page of a book by including a CCD(Charge Coupled Device). A page recognizer(230) extracts the unique code and the page by analyzing a captured image received from the camera. An output unit(250) outputs audio contents to a speaker and outputs video contents to a display device by including the speaker and the display device. The page recognizer recognizes characters in OCR(Optical Character Recognition) and ICR(Intelligent Character Recognition) modes. The communicator performs communication between an external output unit/memory and a book contents output device by using RF(Radio Frequency) of NFC(Near Field Communication) when the output unit and the memory are separated from the device. A power supply unit(260) supplies power to each functional unit.
