Zusammenfassung:A system and a method for updating a map, a recording medium storing a program thereof, and a user terminal are provided to enable a user to update only the changed part of the map and enable the user to use the latest map data conveniently regardless of time/location by reducing a size of download data. A map database(300) stores map data divided/classified into each mesh, and a map version database(400) stores version of the map data. An update server(200) generates and provides partial map data collecting the mesh data to be updated by interpreting/comparing a map version ID of a user terminal(100) with the version ID of each stored mesh ID. The update server searches the map version from the map version database based on the map version received from the user terminal, and generates the partial map data when the newly updated map version is found in the map database.
