SYSTEM AND METHOD OF STORAGE DEVICE DATA ENCRYPTION AND DATA ACCESS

A system and a method for encrypting data of a storage device and accessing the data stored in the storage device are provided to improve data security by encrypting the data of the storage device to protect the data even if an OS(Operating System) of a host device is not activated. An intercept module(104) is connected to between a host system(106) and a storage device(102), which encrypts data with at least one encryption key, and includes a processor and a memory at least. The intercept module receives a request for accessing the data stored in the storage device from the host system and receives a password from a user in response to the request. The intercept module accesses the encryption key to decrypt the requested data when the received password is matched with the password stored in the host system, the storage device, or the intercept module. The intercept module decrypts the requested data by using the accessed encryption key and provides the decrypted data to the host system.
