COMPUTER INTERFACE APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR THE LIMB DISABLED

A computer interface device for a limb disabled person and a method thereof are provided to enable the limb disabled person to use a computer by controlling movement of a mouse pointer with movement of a forearm and controlling click of left/right buttons with muscle contraction of the forearm. A marker(13) is moved together with a forearm of a limb disabled person wanting to use a computer(10). A camera(14) obtains an image of the marker. An image processing device(15) recognizes movement of a mouse by obtaining movement information of the forearm from the marker image and outputting the movement information to the computer. An EMG(Electromyogram) sensor(11) obtains an EMG signal by contacting with skin of the forearm. An EMG signal processor(12) recognizes left or right button click of the mouse by obtaining muscle contraction information from the EMG signal and outputting the muscle contraction information to the computer. The marker and the EMG sensor are formed in a wrist band.
