Zusammenfassung:A video apparatus and a method for processing an image are provided to prevent the degradation of picture quality in a frame rate conversion block while de-interlacing is performed according to interpolation determined by the pixel unit. An image-providing unit(110) provides an image by the field unit. A de-interlacing unit(120) de-interlaces each of fields, which are provided by the image-providing unit, according to interpolation determined based on information about a motion region of each of the fields, and then generates a progressive image. A scaling unit(130) adjusts the screen size of the progressive image. A converting unit converts a frame rate of the progressive image into a frame rate supportable by a displayer.
