THE SURFACE FLAW DETECTION APPARATUS AND THE METHOD TEREOF

A surface flaw detection apparatus and a method thereof are provided to detect a surface flaw by radiating white light with RGB(Red, Green, and Blue) light and determining a spot as the surface flaw where the white light is turned into a different color. A surface flaw detection apparatus includes a light source(30), a camera(1), an image processor(21), a main controller(22), and a power supply(23). The light source radiates white light made of RGB lights on an optical area(4) on a surface of a steel plate. The camera photographs the optical area. The image processor controls the operation of the camera and converts an image obtained by the camera to an RGB or YUV type signal to output. The main controller displays signals and determines as a surface flaw when the RGB or YUV value of the signal is different from the RGB or YUV value of the white light. The power supply supplies the components with power.
