Zusammenfassung:A plasma display apparatus and a method for driving the same are provided to prevent self erasing when the voltage of electrodes that execute sustain discharge during a sustain period is decreased by floating Y electrodes during a second period. Voltage of plural first electrodes(Y) is decreased during a first interval(T1) of a sustain period and a first voltage is applied to the plural first electrodes. During a second interval(T2) following the first interval, the first electrodes are floated. During a third interval, which is positioned before the second period, the voltage of the first electrodes is decreased through an inductor, which is connected to the first electrodes.
