Zusammenfassung:	A thermal cutter in which sputter adhesion and accumulation on covering members surrounding the periphery of a torch are minimized and a sputter is inhibited from flying off beyond a small range. It has a constitution comprising a plasma torch (9) and covering members covering those respective parts of the periphery of the torch (9) which range over a given angle, the covering members being composed of shields (34) and having openings (35) between the adjacent shields.
