COLOR QUAD OF LCOS OPTICAL ENGINE

A color quad of an LCoS(Liquid Crystal on Silicon) optical engine is provided to prevent an output image from being degraded by decreasing the amount of a leakage beam. A light splitting/merging system(100) includes three color quads, a quad housing(110), a single notch filter(131), a dichroic mirror(132), and three LCoS panel assemblies(150,160,170). The quad housing supports the color quad. The single notch filter removes an unnecessary yellow beam from an S-wave beam. The dichroic mirror passes a blue beam and reflects red and green beams. The LCoS panel assemblies are fixed outside the color quads and generate images with RGB colors. The LCoS panel assembly is formed so as to be adjacent to a surface of the color quad on an outer side of the quad housing, such that an incident beam from the quad is received at an accurate position on the LCoS panel.
