Zusammenfassung:	An apparatus and a method of servicing digital multimedia broadcasting are provided to transmit the multimedia data and additional data of high quality and high transmitting efficiency. An apparatus of servicing digital multimedia broadcasting includes a base layer transmitting processor(307), an enhancement layer transmitting processor(305), and a layer transmitting unit. The base layer transmitting processor encodes the base layer stream. The enhancement layer transmitting processor encodes the enhancement layer stream. The layer transmitting unit encodes the base layer stream which is output from the base layer transmitting processor and the enhancement layer stream which is output from the enhancement layer transmitting processor and allots a predetermined bit value so as to proceed a layer symbol mapping to transmit it.
