EMERGENCY CALL PROCESSING SYSTEM AND METHOD IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

A system and a method for processing an emergency call in a mobile communication network are provided to receive a service quickly and exactly by acquiring current location information of a mobile communication terminal originating the emergency call and directly connecting a call to a police station or a fire station having jurisdiction over an area where a terminal user is currently located. An emergency call processing system comprises a mobile communication terminal(10), a base station(20), a base station controller(30), a MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(40), an SCP(Service Control Point)(50), a location information sever(60) and a wired network switching center(70). If an origination call received from the mobile communication terminal is a call to be transmitted to an intelligent network, the MSC transmits a receiving phone number of the origination call to the SCP of the intelligent network. The MSC requests location information to the mobile communication terminal according to a subscriber location information request of the SCP, and transmits information, received in response to the request, to the SCP. The MSC requests call setup to the wired network switching center by using a phone number of a police station/fire station received from the SCP. The SCP translates the receiving phone number received from the MSC. If the origination call is an emergency call, the SCP requests subscriber location information to the MSC and received the requested information. The SCP searches the phone number of the police station/fire station, having jurisdiction over an area where a subscriber is currently located, from a data where location information by administrative district and the phone numbers of the police station/fire station are stored. After that, the SCP provides the searched phone number to the MSC.
