Zusammenfassung:A plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce the length of sub-field by executing a sustain period during an address period. Plural row electrodes are divided into first and second row groups(G1,G2). Row electrodes of the first and second row groups are divided into plural first and second sub-groups(G11-G16,G21-G26). Non light emitting cells are selected from light emitting cells of the first sub-groups corresponding to a first period on the respective first sub-groups in a part of a first sub-field of plural sub-fields. Light emitting cells of the second sub-groups are discharged during a part of the first period. The light emitting cells of the second sub-groups are discharged based on load rates during the rest of the first period.
