A membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell, its preparation method, and a fuel cell system containing the membrane electrode assembly are provided to allow a material to be transported and discharged easily through pores, thereby improving the performance of a fuel cell. A membrane electrode assembly(151) comprises an anode(20') and a cathode(20) which are located so as to face each other; and a polymer electrolyte membrane(10) which is located between the anode and the cathode, wherein the at least one of the anode and the cathode comprises an electrode base(50,50'), a microporous layer(40,40') formed on the electrode base, and a catalyst layer(30,30') formed on the microporous layer. The microporous layer has a micropore(42) having a nano-sized diameter and a macropore(44) having an average diameter of 5 micrometers or more.
