POINTING DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE HAVING THE SAME

A pointing device and an electronic device having the same are provided to move a position of a magnetic member, restore the magnetic member to an initial position, and realize excellent abrasion resistance by using a medium having a spiral elastic area at an inner side of a thin metallic film. An operator is moved by a user and a medium has a spiral pattern part for assigning restoration force to the operator. A detector outputs an electric signal by detecting movement of the operator. The medium includes a planar connector(210) formed to the central area, a band type fixing part(230) formed to an edge area, and the pattern part(220) patterning a line between the connector and the fixing part in a spiral shape. One end of the line is connected to the connector and another end of the line is connected to the fixing part. A radius of the spiral shape is gradually increased while the line rotates along an outer side of the connector. The operator includes a magnetic part(300) and a moving member(400) for moving the magnetic part. The detector includes a magnetic sensor(600) for detecting the movement of the magnetic part.
